This piece depicts the history of the original five Nations of the Iroquois people, who formed the Five Nations League of Peace in about 1050 AD.The white pine tree was chosen to represent the union of the Ononaga, Oneida, Mohawk, Senica and Cayuga Nations. The turtle represents Mother Earth and the wing of the Eagle represents the protection of this agreement which pleased the Creator. Craig was born on the Six Nations Reserve in 1976 and has been carving since the age of 11.
