Rustic-style dreamcatcher with a single wooden bead in the web and bronze Inukshuk hanging beneathe the web. The Old Ones tell of the time when dreams held great power and drifted about at night, before coming to the sleeper. To protect dreamtime, Natives created the web shield, the dream catcher, to hang above cradle boards and in the lodge. When dreams travel the web path, the bad ones lose their way, become ensnared, and wither away with the morning light. The good dreams, knowing their way, pass through the center and are gently guided to the sleeper.
