Beau Dick is one of the Northwest Coast's most versatile and talented carvers. He is widely acclaimed for his strong carving abilities and for the powerful quality of his masks. Reaching out beyond the confines of his own Kwakwaka'wakw culture, Beau Dick has mastered the styles of other tribal traditions. He has also stepped into the realm of contemporary art in paintings which draw on European influence, but express the powerful mythology of his own culture.
